LEADING holiday home manufacturer Victory Leisure Homes has appointed industry expert Gary Corlyon as its director of operations.

Gary, 49, brings more than 30 years’ experience to the role after starting on the shop floor and working his way through the ranks at some of Hull and East Yorkshire’s biggest caravan makers.

Having worked extensively in value stream management, Gary has already brought efficiencies to the factory enabling Victory Leisure Homes to meet the demands of a bulging order book.

The move also puts the Gilberdyke-based company in an optimum position for the coming show season, where orders for its 2017 models are expected to be high.

Gary said he was delighted to join Victory Leisure Homes, which is fast becoming one of the most respected manufacturers in the industry.

He said: “I’ve never worked with Peter Nevitt before, but everyone in the caravan industry knows who he is and what he’s achieved, both with Victory and in his previous roles.

“It is a fantastic time to be joining Victory Leisure Homes which is probably the most exciting manufacturer in the industry at the moment. Although it is a relatively small maker, it is turning out some of the best holiday homes and lodges in terms of design and quality, and with the backing of the Rix Group – one of Hull’s biggest and best known private businesses – it is on very firm foundations for future growth.”

Managing director Peter Nevitt said Gary completed a management team which was well place to drive the business forward.

“Gary is an extremely experienced and knowledgeable guy who has spent the majority of his career in the caravan industry,” Peter said.

“He has learned the ropes from the bottom up yet is always innovating, always looking for ways of improving production and making the whole operation more efficient.

“I feel this is a fantastic appointment for Victory Leisure Homes and it is one that is already yielding results.”
