Holiday Lodge

If you’ve ever dreamed about owning your holiday home or holiday lodge, you’re not alone. The boom in UK staycations and the rise of holiday home ownership has opened up a world of opportunity for those looking to invest in comfort, convenience and a better quality of life.

But, buying your own home away from home isn’t quite the same as booking a weekend getaway. It’s a long-term commitment, and that’s a great thing provided you take the time to ask all the right questions before you make your move.

Whether you're exploring a compact 1-bedroom holiday home like our Lumiere glamping pod, picturing family gatherings in a spacious 3-bedroom holiday home or considering income potential through letting out, we’ve got you covered. Here are the essential questions every future holiday home owner should ask.

1. What’s My Main Reason for Buying a Holiday Home?
Ask yourself: Why am I looking to buy a holiday home or lodge?

Are you looking for a relaxing personal retreat? A family base for school holidays? Or perhaps a flexible lifestyle investment you can rent out during peak seasons?

Your motivation will guide everything from the layout you choose to the holiday park location and the model. For example, if you want a peaceful couple’s retreat, a 2-3 bedroom home with luxury furnishings might be perfect for you. But, if you’re planning for extended family stays, a 2-4 bedroom holiday home like the Harraway is a better choice.

2. Where Do I Want My Holiday Lodge to Be Located?

Seaside escapes, woodland retreats, lakeside views — the UK is full of stunning places to enjoy a staycation in a holiday lodge. But location is more than just scenery.

Again, ask yourself questions before buying:
• Do I want to be near popular holiday spots, or somewhere quiet and secluded?
• How far am I willing to drive for a weekend stay?
• Am I looking for year-round access or just seasonal stays?
• Do I want on-site facilities like pools, spas, restaurants or bars?

Once you’ve narrowed down your preferences, check out the holiday parks near your chosen area. Many holiday lodge owners benefit from being located within beautifully maintained parks with premium amenities, adding even more value to their lodge holidays.

3. What Size Holiday Home Suits My Lifestyle?

Dreaming of a cosy nest for two? Or are you imagining space for grandchildren, pets, and garden games?

Holiday homes come in a range of sizes, including:
• 1 bedroom – Ideal for couples or solo owners seeking peaceful breaks.
• 2 bedroom – Great for small families or occasional guests.
• 2-3 bedroom – Perfect for gatherings, subletting opportunities, or those wanting space to grow.
• 2-4 bedroom – These holiday homes are ideal for large gatherings of extended family or groups of friends, giving ample space for all.

And it’s not just the number of rooms that matters. You may want to think about layout, storage, outdoor space and whether you want open-plan living or separate rooms for better privacy.

4. Can I Afford All the Costs Involved in Holiday Home Ownership?

The initial purchase is just one part of your holiday home investment. Make sure you’re aware of aspects such as:
• Any site fees
• Utility bills such as water, electric and gas
• Insurance cover
• Ongoing maintenance and repairs
• Annual safety checks – again on things like gas, electric, etc.
• Optional extras like decking, extra furniture or Wi-Fi

It’s always advisable to speak to your desired holiday park for a breakdown of costs so you can plan accurately. Many holiday home owners find it helpful to budget to cover annual fees and small repairs.

5. Will I Be Able to Let Out My Holiday Lodge?

Renting out your holiday lodge or home during the peak season can be a fantastic way to offset annual costs when your property isn’t in use. Many people are looking for affordable, comfortable holiday accommodations without the hassle of travelling abroad, and letting your property out affords people that opportunity.

At Victory, we know many buyers love the idea of flexible ownership — enjoying coast or countryside retreats on their terms, while also creating income opportunities when they’re not there. For more information on letting, see our blog: A Guide to Renting Your Static Caravan

6. What’s Included in the Purchase?

This is a key part of the buyer’s journey. Furniture, appliances, decking – what’s already fitted in your holiday home, and what’s a paid upgrade?

At Victory, we pride ourselves on our luxurious, modern holiday homes and lodges, often including integrated appliances, plush bedroom furniture and high-quality soft furnishings.

Take for example our Kahlo model, where luxury touches run throughout, from the indulgent bathroom with rainfall shower to the soft furnishings, blackout curtains, and integrated USB ports. Or, how about our Franklin lodge, where the living area has a feature glass fire and TV unit offering peace and quiet from the world outside and the chance to catch up on your favourite shows. Check out our full range to find out what’s included in each of our models.

7. What’s the Manufacturer’s Warranty Like?

Your holiday home is an important investment, so peace of mind matters. We provide a 12-month warranty that covers all essential aspects of our new holiday homes and lodges, alongside an additional two-year warranty on manufacturing defects.

Some of our range also have an enhanced warranty, but please see our warranty page for more information and full terms and conditions.

8. How Long Can I Use the Holiday Site Each Year?

Holiday parks operate under different licenses — some offer year-round access, whereas others close for off-peak parts of the year. With this in mind, you’ll want to make sure the park’s season aligns with your plans and preferred holiday dates.

Fancy winter escapes? Love long summer days by the sea? Want a space for half-term getaways in spring and autumn? Pick a site that suits your year-round needs and work out how long you can use the holiday site each year.

How Do I Buy a Holiday Home or Lodge?

Dreaming of owning a holiday home or lodge? Whether it's for weekend escapes, summer stays, or even a long-term base by the coast or countryside, the process can feel overwhelming. But it doesn’t have to be! We've broken the journey down into four simple steps to help you go from dreaming to owning without the stress.

Step 1: Find Your Dream Location

Before choosing a home, choose the perfect place to put it. Think about what you want from your getaway spot:
• Do you prefer coastlines, countryside, or something in between?
• How easily can you get there for weekend trips?
• Are you bringing kids or pets, and does the park accommodate them?
• Do you prefer peace and quiet or something closer to family-friendly activities?
• Does the park offer the facilities you need, like a pool, on-site café, or gym?
• Is it an NCC or BH&HPA registered park for peace of mind?
Take the time to shortlist a few parks and visit them in person. Walk the grounds, explore the surroundings, and picture yourself there. The right location should feel like home.

Step 2: Choose Your Dream Holiday Home

Once you’ve found where you want to be, it’s time to pick your ideal home.

As you browse holiday homes and lodges, consider what matters most to you:
• Do you need two, three, or more bedrooms?
• Would you like an en-suite master bedroom?
• Is open-plan living appealing, or do you prefer more traditional layouts?
• Does the kitchen have the appliances and design you need?
• What style suits your taste – modern and sleek or cosy and rustic?

Victory Leisure Homes offers a range of designs and flexible layouts, so you can find a home that fits your lifestyle and budget perfectly.

Step 3: Pick Your Dream Pitch

A great holiday home needs a great spot to sit. That’s where choosing the right pitch comes in.

Here’s what to think about when browsing pitches:
• Do you want a quiet space or somewhere close to the park’s action?
• Would you love a sunny, south-facing position?
• Do you need space for decking, a hot tub, or garden area?
• Is there parking for one or two cars?
• How close are the neighbours?
• Is the pitch maintained for you, or will you need to handle upkeep?

Remember: once your home is sited, it’s not easy or cheap to move again. Choosing the right pitch now could make all the difference to your long-term comfort and enjoyment.

Step 4: Place Your Order and Get Ready to Move In

By now, you’ve chosen the location, the home, and the pitch. The exciting part starts – placing your order.

Here’s what happens next:
• Your home is built to your specifications using high-quality, modern manufacturing methods.
• Fixtures, fittings, and furnishings are finished to premium standards.
• If your home’s already on-site, you may be able to move in right away.
• If it’s being built for you, you’ll receive an estimated delivery timeline.
• Once it arrives, it’s installed and connected, ready for you to start making memories.

Ready to Begin Your Journey?
